Most public content should remain straightforward to read and navigate on mobile. Responsive layouts adapt to smaller screens, and we deliberately aim to minimise experiences that are difficult to use on a phone.

When More Navigation Means Less Screen

Some ScaleEnabler subject areas have a second navigation menu. Very occasionally, there is also a third navigation level.

On a small screen, these extra layers take up some of the available display area. The experience can feel less spacious than on a desktop or tablet, particularly when exploring a detailed subject.

The Spreadsheet Analogy

An accountant can open a complex spreadsheet on a mobile phone, yet still choose a larger screen because the work is easier to understand and perform there.

The same applies to some information-rich ScaleEnabler pages. Mobile access remains supported. For complex exploration, demonstrations, detailed materials or multi-level navigation, a larger device may provide the better experience.

Our Aim

Our objective is to make each experience as usable as reasonably possible on the device being used. That means adapting to each screen while recognising that different devices have different strengths; every experience does not need to be identical.
